Volleyball Recap: Ashland Falls Short of Duxbury in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Ashland can now relate to. They came up short against the Duxbury Dragons on Tuesday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Clockers have suffered since October 7th.

While Ashland was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Duxbury's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-20, 25-21.

Despite the loss, Ashland had strong showings from Quinn Herter, who had 14 digs and two aces, and Isabelle Lai, who had five assists.

Leading Duxbury to victory were Valentina Torres and Catherine Grimaldi. Torres had 19 assists and seven digs, while Grimaldi had 12 assists and five digs. Torres is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 12 every time she's taken the court this season.

Ashland's defeat dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Duxbury, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 22-0.

As of now, neither Ashland nor the Dragons have any future games scheduled.
