Recap: Peoria Heights Patriots vs. Princeville Princes
After flying high against the Farmington Farmers on Tuesday, the Peoria Heights Patriots came back down to earth. Peoria Heights took a 37-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Princeville. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Peoria Heights in their matchups with Princeville: they've now lost five in a row.
Peoria Heights' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rianna Foster, who scored four points along with three steals and three blocks. Foster is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tania Cox, who scored four points along with eight steals.
Peoria Heights' loss dropped their record down to 13-3. As for Princeville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.
Peoria Heights and Midland will face off at 9:00 a.m. on December 28th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Midland will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak. Elmwood's defense has only allowed 27.9 points per game this season, so Princeville's offense will have their work cut out for Princeville.
