Baseball Recap: Claysburg-Kimmel Bulldogs vs. Bishop Guilfoyle Marauders

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Claysburg-Kimmel had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bishop Guilfoyle Marauders and snuck past 2-1. The victory was some much needed relief for Claysburg-Kimmel as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Aidan Simpson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over 6.2 innings pitched. Simpson was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Mason Campagna was excellent, scoring a run while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Paydden Knisely, who went 3-for-3 with an RBI.

Claysburg-Kimmel's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-11. As for Bishop Guilfoyle, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.
