Soccer Recap: Ironwood Ridge Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Ironwood Ridge can now relate to. They fell just short of the Walden Grove Red Wolves by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. That makes it the first time this season the Nighthawks have let down their home crowd.

Ironwood Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Walden Grove, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-6.

Ironwood Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Walden Grove, they will challenge Salpointe Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Salpointe Catholic knows how to get goals on the board -- the team has finished with four goals or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Walden Grove likes a good challenge.
