Volleyball Recap: Alayna Hermansdorfer Key Part of Team Effort in Red Dragons Win

St. Albans lost to Hurricane back in September of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Red Dragons won by a set and slipped past the Redskins 2-1. The victory was some much needed relief for the Red Dragons as it spelled an end to their three-match losing streak.

St. Albans had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 15-25, 25-18, 25-21.

St. Albans' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alayna Hermansdorfer, who had nine kills and one block. Those nine kills gave Hermansdorfer a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Natalie Harris, who had 13 digs.

St. Albans' record now sits at 12-9. As for Hurricane, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9-1 record this season.

Coincidentally, St. Albans and Hurricane will both be playing Parkersburg the next time they take the court. The Redskins will host the Big Reds at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Red Dragons will play them later in the day, at 6:30 p.m.
