Baseball Recap: Roosevelt Comes Up Short

If Roosevelt was riding high fresh off their 10-1 takedown of Torres last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rough Riders fell just short of the Toros by a score of 5-4 on Thursday. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Roosevelt saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Manny Molano, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Molano is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Roosevelt's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7-1. As for Torres, they moved to 5-11 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Roosevelt will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Hoover at 3:30 p.m. on the 23rd. As for Torres, they will take on Chavez at 11:00 a.m. on Monday.
