League recap: League leaders St. Mary and Franklin County Tech to clash this week

Tri-County - North league recap: 5/14/12

On Friday, the top two teams in the current league standings will go head to head, as St. Mary and Franklin County Tech meet. The Saints currently hold a -1.0-game lead over the Eagles for first place.

St. Mary made the biggest jump in the standings this week, moving from third to first place in the league thanks to a 1-0 record over the past seven days. Meanwhile, Pathfinder RVT fell hardest in the standings, dropping from first all the way to third place after going 0-2 in the past week.

Franklin County Tech boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks. On the season, the Eagles have allowed just 85 hits, while striking out 68 batters. James Miller leads the Eagles with 26 strikeouts in 44 innings.

The week's strikeout crown belonged to Max Williams, who turned in six Ks for Franklin County Tech. He's second in the league with 17 total strikeouts.

James Miller was the player of the game on Thursday, with four RBIs in Franklin County Tech's 7-3 victory over McCann Tech
