Yerington had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the Pershing County Mustangs. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won 12 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Brooklyn Kays, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Laney Triplett, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two doubles, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Yerington kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 15 consecutive games.

Yerington's win bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Pershing County, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Yerington will host Battle Mountain at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Lions will need to watch out since the Longhorns have now posted at least ten runs in their last 11 contests. As for Pershing County, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Sierra Lutheran at 4:00 p.m. The Falcons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.21 runs per game on average), something the Mustangs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
