Football Game Preview: Cascade Ramblers vs. Salmon River Savages + How To Watch

The Cascade Ramblers will square off against the Salmon River Savages at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Cascade is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

Cascade is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Garden Valley on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Ramblers were beaten by the Wolverines 74-6. The Ramblers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 61-0.

Despite the defeat, Cascade got top-tier performance from Owen Howlett, who rushed for 168 yards and one TD while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. Howlett really tore up the turf during one magnificent 75-yard run.

Meanwhile, Salmon River faced Council in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Savages took a blow against the Lumberjacks, falling 64-14. The contest marked the Savages' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Salmon River's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Cascade, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Cascade has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 160.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Salmon River struggles in that department as they've been averaging 203.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Cascade strolled past Salmon River in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a score of 34-16. Do the Ramblers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Savages turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
