Basketball Game Preview: Freire Charter Dragon vs. Sun Valley Vanguards

Freire Charter hasn't had much luck against Sun Valley recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Freire Charter Dragon will venture away from home to take on the Sun Valley Vanguards at 12:30 p.m.

Freire Charter easily dispatched South Philadelphia on Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Freire Charter fell just short of Strawberry Mansion by a score of 45-43 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Dragon have suffered since December 6, 2024.

Meanwhile, Sun Valley beat Unionville 39-32 on Thursday.

Sun Valley has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Freire Charter, they now have a losing record at 7-8.

Freire Charter took a serious blow against Sun Valley in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 64-30. Can Freire Charter avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
