Recap: Phoenix Firebirds vs. Jordan-Elbridge Eagles
The Phoenix Firebirds won the last time they faced the Jordan-Elbridge Eagles, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Phoenix came out on top in a nail-biter against Jordan-Elbridge and snuck past 49-47. The win made it back-to-back wins for Phoenix.
Despite the loss, Jordan-Elbridge still got an impressive performance from Abbie Ahern, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds. Ahern has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Erin Lavancha, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
Phoenix's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Jordan-Elbridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Phoenix will take on Solvay at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Jordan-Elbridge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hannibal at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
