Volleyball Game Preview: Homer Knights vs. Boone Central Cardinals

The Homer Knights will take on the Boone Central Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Homer has three straight wins, Boone Central has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Homer will bounce into Monday's contest after beating Wakefield, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Knights walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Trojans on Thursday.

Homer easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-11.

Meanwhile, Boone Central didn't have quite enough to beat Wayne on Tuesday and fell 3-2.

Homer will have to keep a close watch on Tresdyn Stephens and Brooklyn Primrose, a pair of players who had a big impact on Boone Central's prior game. Stephens had 27 digs, while Primrose had 27 assists and nine digs. With that strong performance, Primrose is now averaging an impressive 12 assists per game.

Homer's win bumped their record up to 18-9. As for Boone Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-14.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Monday's matchup: Homer has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.9 aces per game. However, it's not like Boone Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.8 aces.
