Cypress Falls and Jersey Village are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cypress Falls will be strutting in after a victory while Jersey Village will be coming in after a defeat.

Cypress Falls was handed a 12-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Northbrook, sneaking past 11-10. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Sofia Gutierrez, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Laurel Allen, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Cypress Falls was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Jersey Village was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They fell 4-1 to Stratford.

Jersey Village saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Daniella Sanchez, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Cypress Falls' victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-13. As for Jersey Village, their loss dropped their record down to 3-19.

Cypress Falls might still be hurting after the 17-9 defeat they got from Jersey Village in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
