South Summit is on a three-game streak of home losses, Summit Academy a four-game streak of away losses dating back to last season, but someone's luck is about to change on Friday. The South Summit Wildcats will welcome the Summit Academy Bears at 7:00 p.m.

Last Friday, South Summit had to suffer through a 45-14 loss at the hands of Layton Christian Academy.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Summit Academy). They strolled past American Leadership Academy with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 47-28.

Summit Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bronson Dixon, who rushed for 143 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. That's the most rushing yards Dixon has posted since back in October of 2023. Another pass catcher making a difference was Kyle Lively, who picked up 172 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Summit Academy's defense and their four sacks. In that department, Tug Wilbur was the leader with two. He is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in the last seven games he's played dating back to last season.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Summit Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 258 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

South Summit's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Summit Academy, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.

South Summit beat Summit Academy 45-33 when the teams last played back in September of 2023. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Summit Academy's Aden Stines, who threw for 164 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 passes, and also picked up 58 receiving yards and a touchdown.
