Heidelberg Academy (Heidelberg, Miss.) jumped out to an early lead against
Prentiss Christian (Prentiss, Miss.) and never looked back on the way to a 34-20 victory on Saturday.
The Rebels put up 12 points in the opening frame. Heidelberg Academy scored on a passing touchdown and a rushing touchdown.
HA was up 26-14 at the half after taking the lead on a rushing touchdown in the first quarter.
The Heidelberg school saw its 12-point halftime lead fall to six entering the fourth.
The defeat comes as a step back for Prentiss Christian, which notched a 14-12 victory over Ben's Ford Christian in its previous outing. The loss snapped the Saints' 2-game winning streak.
In a MAIS A District 4 game next week Prentiss Christian (4-5) takes on Porter's Chapel Academy, and Heidelberg Academy (2-6) will go up against Park Place Christian Academy also in a MAIS A District 4 game.
