Football Recap: Gore Finds Home Field Redemption Against Regent Prep

There's no place like home for Gore, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 46-39 win over Regent Prep on Friday. This was payback for the Pirates, who suffered a 68-36 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Regent Prep's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Bryceton Huerta, who gained 140 total yards and two touchdowns, and Brody Smith, who threw for 280 yards and two TDs. Huerta also posted 123 receiving yards, which is notable because Regent Prep is 2-1 when he posts at least 80 receiving yards, but 1-2 otherwise.

Gore has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.3 points over those games. As for Regent Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Gore will take on Wewoka at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Regent Prep, they will be playing at home against Allen at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Regent Prep's defense better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 29.8 points per game this season.
