MaxPreps Top 25 high school football scores: No. 9 Southlake Carroll beats Prosper 49-31 to advance to Texas 6A Division 2 quarterfinals

No. 11 Carrollton snaps No. 1 Grayson's 26-game win streak with 34-14 victory in Georgia AAAAAA quarterfinals.

No. 11 Carrollton (Ga.) snapped Grayson's (Loganville, Ga.) 26-game win streak with a dominant 34-14 win over the top-ranked team in the MaxPreps Top 25. Senior running back Cameron Wood had a huge night finishing with 23 carries for 173 yards and three touchdowns.

The Rams jumped out to a 14-0 lead early in the second quarter but the Trojans responded and took full momentum after a 70-yard touchdown run from Wood. Freshman quarterback CJ Cypher connected with Peyton Zachary for a 41-yard score to tie the game at 14. 

Wood scored his second touchdown to extend the lead to 24-14 in the third quarter. The defense dominated in the second half and Wood rushed for his third score to make it 31-14 in the fourth quarter. 

The Trojans head into the AAAAAA semifinals a perfect 13-0 and will take on North Gwinnett (Suwanee, Ga.) next Friday. The Bulldogs beat West Forsyth (Cumming, Ga.) 25-15. 



In California, No. 6 Santa Margarita (Rancho Santa Margarita) dominated from start to finish and rolled to a 42-7 win over No. 2 Centennial (Corona) at the Rose Bowl in the CIF Southern Section Division 1 championship. It was the Eagle's first section title since 2011. 

USC-bound wide receiver Trent Mosley put together a special performance hauling in 10 receptions for 299 yards and two touchdowns to go with two more scores on the ground. Senior quarterback Trace Johnson completed 14 of 24 passes for 391 yards and three touchdowns.

The defense had the Huskies offense uncomfortable all night and finished with six sacks.

Santa Margarita will most likely face No. 15 De La Salle (Concord, Calif.) in the CIF Open Division state championship game on Dec. 13. 

In Texas, No. 9 Southlake Carroll (Southlake) took down Prosper 49-31 to advance to the UIL 6A Division 2 quarterfinals. The game was delayed four hours because of lightning and kicked off at 11 p.m. The Dragons head into next week's matchup 13-0 and are winning by an average margin of 43.3 points per game. They will face Guyer (Denton) after the Wildcats kicked a game-winning field goal as time expired to beat Byron Nelson (Trophy Club) 24-21.

St. Joseph Regional (Montvale, N.J.) won its first state title since 2018 with a 24-21 win over No. 23 Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, N.J.) in the Non-Public A championship game. The Green Knights went into halftime trailing 14-10 but came out in the third quarter outscoring the Ironmen 10-0 to take a 24-14 lead. 



Don Bosco Prep was stopped on fourth down in the final two minutes as the Green Knights won their 20th state title in program history. 

No. 7 Buford improved to 13-0 after beating Douglas County (Douglasville) for the second time this year in the AAAAAA quarterfinals. The Wolves cruised to a 30-15 win and will face Valdosta in the semifinals. The Wildcats beat Walton (Marietta, Ga.) 45-42. 

In Nevada, Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) won its fifth consecutive state title and 16th since 2007. The Gaels beat Arbor View (Las Vegas) 44-7 in the Open Division state championship on Tuesday at Allegiant Stadium. The Gaels closed out the 2025 season with an 11-1 record with the lone loss coming against Mater Dei, 28-24. 

In Arizona, No. 18 Hamilton (Chandler) faces rival Chandler for the second time in four weeks with the winner advancing to the Open Division state championship. The Huskies erased a 34-13 third quarter deficit en route to a 55-41 win. The winner will face Basha (Chandler) or Liberty (Peoria) in the state title game Dec. 6 at Arizona State University. 

No. 21 Cass Tech (Detroit) is going for its second consecutive Division 1 state championship on Sunday at Ford Field. They face an undefeated Catholic Central (Novi, Mich.) squad in a matchup of 13-0 teams.
