Volleyball Recap: Audrey Barnett Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Father Capodanno

The Sandhills Classical Christian Lions made easy work of the Father Capodanno Grunts on Monday and carried off a 3-0 win.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Sandhills Classical Christian was: they took every set by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-11, 25-13.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sandhills Classical Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Audrey Barnett, who had six aces. Those six aces gave Barnett a new career-high. Riley Jackson was another key player, getting six digs and two aces.

They weren't the only good server: Sandhills Classical Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in three consecutive games.

The victory got Sandhills Classical Christian back to even at 4-4. As for Father Capodanno, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Sandhills Classical Christian will challenge Cape Fear Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Father Capodanno, they will take on LifeSpring Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
