Baseball Recap: Riverside Takes a Loss

Riverside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 22-5 to the Freeman Scotties. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Scotties this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 20-5 on Saturday.

Riverside saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Reedy, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. That double was Reedy's first of the season. Another was Nathan Lee, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Riverside's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Freeman, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season.

Coincidentally, Riverside and Freeman will both be playing Lakeside the next time they take the field. The Scotties will head out to face the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Rams will head out to face them at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
