Football Recap: Pontotoc Drops Highest Score of Season Against Lafayette

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pontotoc). They were the clear victors by a 41-21 margin over the Lafayette Commodores on Thursday. The Warriors not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 5th (when they won 37-6).

Although Lafayette took the loss, they still got scores from Kamaron Pritchard, McLain Corban, and Justice Vaughn.

Pontotoc has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. As for Lafayette, they dropped their record down to 6-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Pontotoc and Lafayette are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Warriors will take on Lanier at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th. The Bulldogs' defense has only allowed 10.9 points per game this season, so Pontotoc's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Lafayette, they will square off against Cleveland Central at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Pritchard and Anthony Stephens Jr.
