Volleyball Recap: Joni Snyder's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Westfall over Adena

Westfall lost against Adena on September 2nd and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Mustangs lost 3-0 to the Warriors. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Westfall was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-23, 25-14.

Westfall's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joni Snyder, who had 11 digs and two assists. Snyder has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Cora Bruce, who had ten digs and one assist.

Adena was led to victory by Kimmy Dalton and Kortney Sowers. Dalton had 30 digs and two aces, while Sowers had eight digs and two aces. That's the most digs Dalton has posted since back in November of 2024.

Westfall's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Adena, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 17-0.

Coming up, Westfall will head out on the road to face off against Zane Trace at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Adena, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against Shekinah Christian on the 27th.
