Baseball Recap: Weir Beats Beaver Local for Their Third Straight Win

Weir waltzed into their matchup on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Beaver Local Beavers get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Red Riders also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2025.

Aleks Zanieski made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. Those 14 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Zanieski wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kason Lash, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Weir's record now sits at 11-12. As for Beaver Local, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-8.

Weir and Beaver Local should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in their respective state rankings. The Red Riders will face off against East Liverpool at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (50 vs. 667). Meanwhile, Beaver Local (ranked 310th) will meet East Palestine (ranked 658th) at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
