Softball Game Preview: Stephenville FAITH Knights vs. Texas Wind

The Stephenville FAITH Knights will head out to take on Texas Wind at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Stephenville FAITH has given up an average of 11 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Stephenville FAITH came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 12-2 to Santo. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Knights couldn't push the score so high this time.

Karsyn Bedwell made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Texas Wind came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Texas Wind got a massive performance out of Madelyne Morgan, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three hits gave Morgan a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mylie Mcdougal, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Texas Wind hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive contests.

Texas Wind pushed their record up to 9-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Stephenville FAITH, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.
