Basketball Recap: Verona Takes a Loss

Verona was the 48-40 winner over Seneca when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Verona Wildcats took a hard 60-46 fall against the Seneca Indians on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 267th, while the Indians are ranked 99th).

Verona dropped their record down to 3-4 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Seneca, their victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-1.

Verona will take on Purdy in a holiday battle at at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Seneca, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 35-23 win against Southwest on the 13th.
