Softball Recap: Norwich Free Academy Wins Going Away Against Ledyard

Norwich Free Academy won the last time they faced Ledyard and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Colonels with a sharp 17-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won 13 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Dakota Bourdon spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Norwich Free Academy got a massive performance out of Amelia Driscoll, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three doubles, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Driscoll a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Green, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.

Norwich Free Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ledyard only posted an OBP of .333.

The victory made it two in a row for Norwich Free Academy and bumps their season record up to 17-5. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Ledyard, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 19-4.

As of now, neither Norwich Free Academy nor the Colonels have any future games scheduled.
