Fike hadn't done well against South Johnston recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Demons came out on top in a nail-biter against the Trojans, sneaking past 2-1. The win was some much needed relief for the Demons as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Fike saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Spencer Bass, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI.

Fike's victory bumped their record up to 4-9. As for South Johnston, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Fike will take on rival Smithfield-Selma at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, South Johnston is set to challenge their familiar foe C.B. Aycock at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
