Football Game Preview: Quince Orchard Cougars vs. Broadneck Bruins

The Quince Orchard Cougars will square off against the Broadneck Bruins at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Quince Orchard's defense has only allowed 6.7 points per game this season, so Broadneck's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Quince Orchard is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top against Flowers by a score of 21-10. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Cougars' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland football rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Jaguars are ranked 25th).

It was another big night for William Drakeford Jr., who rushed for 94 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Quince Orchard proved: they limited Flowers to a paltry one yards per carry. The Cougars didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 5.9.

Meanwhile, Broadneck waltzed into their matchup on Friday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They enjoyed a cozy 37-22 victory over the Panthers. Broadneck's win was all the more impressive since the Panthers were averaging only 12.18 points allowed on the season.

Quince Orchard better keep an eye on Nate Kropkowski. He was instrumental in Broadneck's win, throwing for 213 yards and two TDs, while also rushing for 65 yards and one score. Those 65 rushing yards gave Kropkowski a new career-high. Gabe Denius was in the mix too, providing Broadneck with two touchdowns.

Quince Orchard's record now sits at 12-0. As for Broadneck, their record is now 8-3.

Everything came up roses for Quince Orchard against Broadneck in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 48-13 victory. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Bruins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
