Basketball Game Preview: Rushville Lions vs. Oldenburg Academy Twisters

The Rushville Lions will square off against the Oldenburg Academy Twisters at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Rushville is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

Rushville lost 53-29 to Delta on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 352nd, while the Eagles are ranked 48th).

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Zy Adams, who posted seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of XxZavien Jenkins, who had eight points.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Oldenburg Academy beat Shawe Memorial 52-48 on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Twisters.

Rushville's loss dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Oldenburg Academy, their win bumped their record up to 12-7.

Rushville came up short against Oldenburg Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 44-38. Can Rushville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
