It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Brownsburg had no problem doing just that on Friday. They put the hurt on the Decatur Central Hawks with a sharp 47-23 victory. Considering the Bulldogs have won nine games by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Aiden Jobe continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 173 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. He is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last four games he's played. Oscar Frye was another key player, throwing for 113 yards and one TD while completing 78.9% of his passes.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Brownsburg was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 261 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 210 rushing yards in five consecutive matchups.
Brownsburg didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jordan Smith and Drew Bostic.
Despite the loss, Decatur Central still got an impressive performance from Braylon Morris, who rushed for 106 yards and one score on only eight carries, and also picked up 49 receiving yards. Morris really tore up the turf during one magnificent 72-yard run.
Brownsburg's win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-0. As for Decatur Central, they moved to 9-3 with that defeat, which also ended their nine-game winning streak.
Coming up, Brownsburg will be playing at home against Warren Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Decatur Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
