Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask El Camino Real). They blew past the Chatsworth Chancellors, posting a 78-35 win. Given the Royals' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 183rd, while the Chancellors are ranked 574th), the result on Wednesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

El Camino Real got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Laila Bowens out in front who went 9 of 19 on her way to 21 points along with eight steals and seven boards. The game was Bowens' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauryn Valdivia, who went 7 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 21 points.

El Camino Real was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

El Camino Real's win bumped their record up to 11-13. As for Chatsworth, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. El Camino Real will face off against Granada Hills Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. El Camino Real knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Granada Hills Charter likes a good challenge. As for Chatsworth, they will square off against Taft at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Chatsworth is facing Taft at the right time seeing as Taft is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
