Trego hasn't had much luck against Hill City recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Golden Eagles will challenge the Ringnecks at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Trego comes in on ten and Hill City on nine.
Trego is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Kiowa County, posting a 64-18 win. The Golden Eagles' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Trego to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jack Conness, who rushed for 229 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 11.5 yards per carry. Those five rushing touchdowns gave Conness a new career-high. Vladon Crawford was in the mix too, providing Trego with two scores.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Trego was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 352 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive games.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Trego's defense and their five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Jared Aschenbrenner and Aaron Samson, who racked up 4.5 sacks between them.
Meanwhile, Hill City faced Oxford in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Ringnecks never let the Wildcats get on the board and left with a 50-0 victory. The Ringnecks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by 36 points or more this season.
Hill City's win came from a few key players Trego will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Tate Balthazor, who threw for 133 yards and a pair of TDs on only 11 passes, and also rushed for 44 yards and one touchdown. He didn't just play on offense: he also made four total tackles and defended two passes in addition to snagging an interception. Another player making a difference was Jaxson Smith, who picked up 133 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Trego's record now sits at 10-0. As for Hill City, their record is now 9-1.
Trego beat Hill City 30-20 in their previous matchup back in September. Will the Golden Eagles repeat their success, or do the Ringnecks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
