Softball Recap: Winn Takes a Loss

Winn was the 19-3 winner over Southwest Legacy when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Winn Mavericks took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Southwest Legacy Titans on Tuesday.

Julee Salinas was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those RBI were her first of the season.

Winn dropped their record down to 2-8 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Southwest Legacy, their win ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winn will welcome McCollum at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. McCollum's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Winn's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Southwest Legacy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Warren at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
