Basketball Recap: Chagrin Falls Triumphs

It was a proper cat-fight when Chagrin Falls took on Orange on Friday. The Chagrin Falls Tigers walked away with a 62-49 win over the Orange Lions. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Chagrin Falls had a senior duo take command as Oscar Difranco went 5 for 8 en route to 19 points along with five rebounds and four steals and Ryan Curtiss went 8 of 11 on his way to 18 points and seven boards. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for Difranco. Evan Castelluccio was another key player, putting up four points and three steals.

Orange's loss came despite strong showings from Alex Mcculloch and Jhamir Smith. Mcculloch went 5 for 11 on his way to 11 points and four steals, while Smith posted eight points. Jaylhin Sheppard also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

Chagrin Falls now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Orange, they dropped their record down to 6-9 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chagrin Falls will take on Aurora at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chagrin Falls is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.9 points per game this season. As for Orange, they will face off against Midview at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Orange is facing Midview at the right time seeing as Midview is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
