Soccer Game Preview: Petaluma vs. American Canyon

The Petaluma Trojans will challenge the American Canyon Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Petaluma is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They never let Napa onto the board and left with a 3-0 victory on Thursday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Trojans' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 868th, while the Grizzlies are ranked 138th).

Meanwhile, American Canyon came into Thursday's match having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Neither they nor Sonoma Valley could gain the upper hand on Thursday so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw. The result was nothing new for Wolves as the squad haven't won a game since December 16, 2024.

Quang Tran and Edorado Pelagatti scored both of American Canyon's goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

American Canyon's draw gives them a new season record of 3-6-3. As for Petaluma, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5-3.
