Basketball Recap: First Academy Comes Up Short

First Academy played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 60-20 loss at the hands of the Byne Christian Saints. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-10.

Despite the loss, First Academy still got an impressive performance from Logan James, who posted seven points.

Byne Christian found their leader in sophomore Owen McFarlin, who went 9-for-10 en route to 19 points. Will Skelley was another key player, shooting 63% from the field to rack up 13 points.

First Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Byne Christian, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, First Academy will challenge Faith Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Byne Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 65-60 victory against Highland Christian Academy on the 8th.
