Basketball Recap: Keegan Fitzwater's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Milford Christian over Bayview Christian

Milford Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 48-38 to the Bayview Christian Seahawks. The Conquerors were probably out for revenge after losing 52-24 to them when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Milford Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Keegan Fitzwater, who posted 12 points and six steals. Jonah Johnson was another key player, putting up five points in addition to 27 boards and six blocks.

Even though they lost, Milford Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Milford Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Bayview Christian, they moved to 1-3 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

When Milford Christian and Bayview Christian next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Milford Christian will square off against Independent Baptist Academy and their six-game winning streak at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Bayview Christian will try to stop Lighthouse Baptist Academy's four-game winning streak when the meet at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
