Flag Football Recap: Cherokee Triumphs + How To Watch

Denmark typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Cherokee proved too difficult a challenge. They pulled ahead with a 13-12 photo finish over Denmark. The score was all tied up 6-6 at the break, but the Warriors were the better team in the second half.

Gracie Mayo threw for 82 yards and one TD while completing 76.9% of her passes. Abby Tyler was her top target, picking up 31 receiving yards.

Cherokee has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.4 points on average over those games. As for Denmark, with the loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-2.

Coming up, Cherokee will look to defend their home field on Thursday against River Ridge at 5:00 p.m. As for Denmark, they will take on North Forsyth at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Denmark 7.1, North Forsyth 6.6) so any points scored will be well earned.
