Loudoun County extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 10-4 in the process. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Loudoun Valley Vikings a 6-0 shutout. Considering the Captains have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Keira Bertoglio made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. Loudoun County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Loudoun Valley only posted a batting average of .125.

As for Loudoun Valley, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-6 record. The matchup marked the first time this season in which they were not able to get on the board.

On Loudoun Valley's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maia Valenti, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Looking ahead, Loudoun County will head out on the road to face off against Freedom at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.13 runs per game on average), something the Captains will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Loudoun Valley, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Boonsboro at 6:30 p.m.
