Basketball Game Preview: Riverside-Durham Pirates vs. Person Rockets + How To Watch

The Riverside-Durham Pirates are taking a road trip to challenge the Person Rockets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Riverside-Durham has now lost ten straight dating back to last season, leaving the team hunting for their first win since January 30.

Last Saturday, Riverside-Durham was beaten by Heritage 59-18.

Despite the loss, Riverside-Durham saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Au'Nehstii Hagans posted 11 points.

Meanwhile, Person gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat J.F. Webb 70-42. The Rockets not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since January 3rd (when they won 59-25).

Person's win came from a few key players Riverside-Durham will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Navaeh Holeman, who shot 45% from the field to rack up 18 points and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Nayahana Marner, who went 5-for-9 en route to 12 points and four steals.

Riverside-Durham's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Person, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.

Riverside-Durham beat Person 42-34 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
