Baseball Recap: Kalamazoo Central Takes a Loss

Kalamazoo Central came into this matchup off a tough seven-run defeat on Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Gull Lake Blue Devils by a score of 10-8 on Thursday. The Maroon Giants have struggled against the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Colin Hoenle was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over 4.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, Dewey Young was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.
