Basketball Recap: Flanagan/Woodland's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Two

Flanagan/Woodland won the last time they faced Peoria Christian and Emma Palaschak did her part to make sure it happened again. The Falcons put the hurt on the Chargers with a sharp 60-34 win on Tuesday for which the team can thank Palaschak, who shot 44% from the field on her way to 34 points in addition to five boards and three steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Flanagan/Woodland's points.

Another player making a difference was Jaylei Leininger, who posted seven points and ten rebounds. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

The victory made it two in a row for Flanagan/Woodland and bumps their season record up to 2-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 54 points in those games. As for Peoria Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Flanagan/Woodland will head out to face off against Calvary Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Peoria Christian, they will take on Paxton-Buckley-Loda in a tournament on Friday.
