Mt. Enterprise senior scores six touchdowns to bring his season total to 476 points.

Kaegan Ash of Mt. Enterprise (Texas) broke high school football's single-season points record Friday, surpassing the previous mark of 453 established by Brett Law of Sheridan (Ind.) in 1988.

Ash notched the record during a 74-46 victory against Overton in the Conference 2A Division 2 state playoffs. The 6-foot, 195-pound senior running back/linebacker ran 33 times for 420 yards and six touchdowns covering 22, 16, 50, 60, 9 and 14 yards. He also converted three two-point conversions, bringing his points total to 476 on the season.

The record came in the first quarter as Ash ran for 194 yards and three touchdowns in the first 12 minutes alone, surpassing Law on 50-yard TD run with 3:48 left in the period.
Committed to Texas Tech where he is expected to play linebacker, Ash has been one of the most prolific running backs in the country this season. His yardage total following Friday's win is 3,793, which is good for No. 2 nationally.

Ash is approaching the single-season record for total touchdowns of 72, set by Kazmeir Allen of Tulare Union (Tulare, Calif.) in 2017. Ash has 69 for the year with a potential for three more games.

This season, Ash has recorded single-game rushing totals of 495, 417, 385, 345 and 599, which tied him for the Texas record and placed him in the top 10 for most in a single game ever. He also became the 14th player in history to reach the 10,000-yard mark for his career.

Ash, who averages more than 290 yards per game, is now in pursuit of two other Texas records. The single-season (4,045) and career (11,232) rushing records are both held by Ken Hall of Sugar Land from 1950–53.

Mt. Enterprise (13-0) advanced to the quarterfinals with the win where it will play the winner between Mart and Bremond.
