Football Recap: Marionville Extends Winning Streak to Four

Marionville extended their winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Bryer Guerin. The Comets blew past the Ash Grove Pirates, posting a 34-7 victory for which the team can thank Guerin, who rushed for 116 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 33 yards and one touchdown. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 56 yards.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Marionville's defense and their four sacks. Ryder White was especially locked on to Ash Grove's QB and sacked him twice. Jeremy Siver got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Marionville's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Ash Grove, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Marionville is set to take on their familiar foe Miller at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Guerin and Jaylen Madsen. Meanwhile, Ash Grove will face off against rival Sarcoxie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
