Basketball Game Preview: Northeast Raiders vs. Jasper County Hurricanes

Having just played yesterday, the Northeast Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Jasper County Hurricanes at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Northeast has struggled recently with four defeats in a row, while Jasper County will arrive with four straight wins.

Northeast is headed into the game having just suffered their closest loss since January 19, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Jefferson County by a score of 46-43.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jasper County). They breezed by Utopian Academy for the Arts to the tune of 79-35 on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Northeast's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Jasper County, their win bumped their record up to 7-9.

Northeast beat Jasper County 65-54 in their previous meeting back in February of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Northeast since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
