Football Recap: Grandview Finds Playoff Glory Versus Chatfield + How To Watch

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Grandview had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took down the Chatfield Chargers 32-13. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Wolves' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Chargers are ranked 66th).

Maddox Johnson was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 131 yards and three touchdowns. Those 131 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Grandview proved: they limited Chatfield to a paltry -2.4 yards per carry. While five picked up at least one total tackle, Johnson stood above the rest. He rushed for 131 yards and three scores. Grandview's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 4.6.

Although Chatfield took the loss, they still got scores from William (Roni) Rohlman and Cash Williams.

Grandview now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Chatfield, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.

Coming up, Grandview will venture away from home to square off against Arvada West at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Chatfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
