Justin Wyatt Jr. Crosses Big Stat Threshold
On Friday, Highland got the W thanks in part to Justin Wyatt Jr. playing the best football he has all season. Wyatt Jr. threw for 269 yards and five touchdowns on only 16 passes, and also rushed for 55 yards and two touchdowns. Thanks to that strong showing, he's now averaging 3.1 passing touchdowns per game. He has become a key player for Highland: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 2-3 otherwise.
If the past is any indication, Wyatt Jr. could be in store for another big game when he takes on Lancaster on Thursday. When Wyatt Jr. last faced the Eagles back in October of 2023, he rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 153 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes.

Jacob Walker produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Lancaster to the win on Friday. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run.
The win (which was Lancaster's fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-2. Walker and Lancaster will welcome Highland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Joshua Suarez Goes Supernova in Palmdale Win
Joshua Suarez's big game helped extend Palmdale's winning streak to three on Thursday. Suarez did his part (and then some), throwing for 211 yards and five touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes for the 'W'. Suarez is crushing it when it comes to passing touchdowns: he's passed for at least four every time he's taken the field this season.
The win got Palmdale back to even at 4-4. Suarez and Palmdale will square off against Eastside at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Highland Gets a Boost from Blanchard in 49-7 Victory
The second Highland player making an appearance here is Demond Blanchard, and for good reason. He picked up 164 receiving yards and three touchdowns. He really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 74 yards.

Jaden Graham Rounds Out Top Five
Rounding off our Top Five is Jaden Graham of Quartz Hill. Graham rushed for 89 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries. Quartz Hill is undefeated when Graham posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise.
Graham might have his next game, a road matchup with Antelope Valley, circled on his calendar. When Graham last faced the Antelopes back in October of 2023, he rushed for 201 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry.
