Basketball Recap: Roane County Comes Up Short

If Roane County was riding high fresh off their 88-67 takedown of Harriman on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Yellowjackets took a hard 62-46 fall against the William Blount Governors on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Yellowjackets of the 80-67 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2023.

Roane County's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for William Blount, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.

Roane County and William Blount could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings. The Yellowjackets (ranked 300th) will meet Clarkrange (ranked 143rd) at 12:00 p.m. on the 30th. Meanwhile, William Blount will challenge Lambert at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (219 vs. 69).
