Baseball Recap: Exeter Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Exeter can now relate to. They fell just short of the Portsmouth Clippers by a score of 6-5 on Saturday. The Blue Hawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Clippers earlier this season, when they won 5-1.

Exeter has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-9 record this season. As for Portsmouth, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-13.

Exeter does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Portsmouth, they will challenge Londonderry on Wednesday. The Lancers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Clippers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
