Volleyball Recap: Amanda-Clearcreek Comes Up Short

If Amanda-Clearcreek was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Fairfield Union on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Aces came up short against the Unioto Shermans on Saturday, falling 3-0. The Aces were not able to make up for their loss to the Shermans from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-16, 25-13.

Unioto's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alyssa Stanley led the charge by getting 18 digs. Stanley has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more digs the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ellie Depoy, who had seven digs and two aces.

Amanda-Clearcreek moved to 4-6 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Unioto, their win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2.

Coming up, Amanda-Clearcreek will venture away from home to face off against Northridge at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The last three games the Vikings have played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Unioto, they will be playing at home against Zane Trace at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
