Football Game Preview: Old Mill Patriots vs. Mergenthaler Vo-Tech Mustangs

The Old Mill Patriots will challenge the Mergenthaler Vo-Tech Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Old Mill is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Urbana 36-0. The victory was nothing new for the Patriots as they're now sitting on five straight.

Old Mill's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Meech Jones led the charge by rushing for 158 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.9 yards per carry. That's the most rushing touchdowns Jones has posted since back in October. Trey MarTini was another key passer, throwing for 160 yards and three TDs on only 13 passes.

Meanwhile, Mergenthaler Vo-Tech got themselves on the board against Marriotts Ridge on Friday, but Marriotts Ridge never followed suit. They blew past Marriotts Ridge, posting a 52-0 win. Given Mergenthaler Vo-Tech's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland football rankings (they are ranked 15th, while Marriotts Ridge is ranked 88th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mergenthaler Vo-Tech's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Old Mill, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.
